About Me

Hello, I’m a highly driven and hardworking mid-level software engineer. I am interested in cybersecurity-related technologies and software, proven through my technical expertise working in the industry to create deliverables and solutions in support of and for government clients.

Since I was little, I’ve always enjoyed problem solving and spending time toiling away to find a solution. Combined with my fascination of computers, I have grown to love developing solutions to problems using technology. I continue to see this passion in the growth and versatility of technology in the modern world, as new ideas and inventions that benefit our everyday lives are continuously created. The importance of security within these technologies continues to become evermore prevalent and important, and as I continue to see technology grow, I hope I can continue to help and contribute to its progress throughout the rest of my career.

My Knowledge

Data Structures

Experience with intermediate programming in Java and an introduction to computer science. Knowledge in topics including program structure and organization, object-oriented programming (classes, objects, types, sub-typing), graphical user interfaces, algorithm analysis (asymptotic complexity, big O notation), recursion, data structures (lists, trees, stacks, queues, heaps, search trees, hash tables, graphs), graph algorithms.

Algorithms

Experience in the design and analysis of algorithms, focusing on major algorithm design techniques (greedy algorithms, divide and conquer, dynamic programming, and network flow), computability theory focusing on undecidability, computational complexity focusing on NP-completeness, and algorithmic techniques for intractable problems, including identification of structured special cases, approximation algorithms, and local search heuristics.

Security

Experience with Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmarks and other hardening techniques to secure virtual operating systems (Windows – Server 2016, Vista/7/8/10 and Linux – Ubuntu 14/16, Debian 8) against common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVEs) from open services. Also simulated network topologies containing nodes (routers, switches, firewalls) based on OSI model with Cisco PacketTracer/NetAcad.

My Experience

Software Engineer II

As a software engineer II, I developed software solutions for Microsoft’s Cloud for Sovereignty (Sovereign Cloud Services) and assisted in porting over Microsoft
commercial technologies in the Azure Cloud into spaces for government clients. I have also created internal metric tools using Microsoft Web and REST APIs to assist in builds development and sprint planning, leading to improved
efficiency within agile sprints as well as build version timelines.

Computer Network Operations (CNO) Analyst Developer

As a CNO developer, I wrote and developed software products in an agile software development cycle, working with government clients and other developers in a scrum framework to research, design, implement, debug, and test features in preparation for regular software releases. I also facilitated biweekly sprint planning and sprint review meetings to iteratively and incrementally develop software features, prioritizing Jira tickets in the product backlog to meet customer priorities and needs, collaborating and adapting to any changes necessary. The main focus of my work included directing and improving system testing of multiple software releases through the creation and testing of requirements set by the concept of operations (CONOPS), software requirements specifications (SRS), and high level design (HLD) documents.

Booz Allen Hamilton - National Cyber PlatformJanuary 2024 – January 2025

Computer Network Operations (CNO) Researcher

As a CNO researcher, I conducted vulnerability research and analysis of target technologies as requested by the government client, including research of mechanisms,
mitigations, bypasses, and behaviors of applications and programs. From this research, I co-authored and edited multiple research and white papers as a final deliverable to the client, compiling all research done over the span of four months into three digestible research papers totaling over 110 pages of content.

Booz Allen Hamilton - DarkLabs // Directed ResearchJune 2023 – October 2023

Computer Science Intern

As a computer science intern at the NSA, I maintained, updated, architected, and refactored a code base of Perl and Python scripts used in the development of a software assurance automation system to be run against secure vendor software. I also ensured vendor software meets security requirements outlined in the Information Assurance Security Requirements Directive (IASRD) through the development of Python test cases, identifying over 20 vulnerabilities with lexical analysis. Using the IASRD, I also reviewed security requirement documents for software and hardware for existing technology implemented by the DOD.

National Security Agency - CybersecurityMay 2022 - August 2022

Research Lab Assistant and RuFaS Model Developer

The Ruminant Farm Systems (RuFaS) Model is a next-generation, whole-farm, dairy systems model. As a model developer and research lab assistant, I work on programming the model using Python, working with a nation-wide team of programmers, scientists, industry leaders, and academic faculty to continue identifying and proposing new opportunities to expand and develop the model. I also maintain pseudocode documentation, reviewing and debugging the code while also using Git to maintain clean working branches and version control. (rufas.org)
